The UTPD Customer Service Center seeks to fill part-time, 25 hour per week Clerical Specialist position. The current hours of work are Monday – Friday, 10:15 a.m. – 3:45 p.m. or 12:30 p.m. – 6 p.m., but may change due to operational need.  The position is responsible for performing clerical tasks related to the parking enforcement office, fingerprinting, and the issuance of university keys.

 

The successful applicants are required to posses the ability to calculate fractions, decimals and percentages; to read and write common vocabulary; and have three months experience in office practices and procedures or equivalent.  A passing score on the civil service test is required.  Preferred qualifications include excellent telephone, computer and customer service skills.  The starting hourly rate for these CWA union positions in Range 25 is $12.29 per hour.  After the successful completion of the 120 day probationary period, the rate increases to $12.65 per hour.

Job 994964  Student Loan Specialist 1, Bursar’s Office:

This full-time position in the Bursar’s Office has the responsibility to resolve delinquent accounts with debtors, parents, State Attorney General’s Office or other financially responsible parties to resolve differences, in an effort to bring the accounts to a current status or paid in full according to applicable laws.

 

The successful applicant will possess the ability to calculate fractions, decimals & percentages & to read & write common vocabulary plus: 3 courses in public relations (or 3 months experience); 300 hours training in interviewing as it relates to collection procedures (or 3 months experience); 300 hours training in collection procedures (or 3 months experience); or equivalent.  Experience with Microsoft Office software and a general to strong knowledge of collections laws preferred.  Must be available to work Monday through Thursday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday.  Schedule is subject to change upon departmental needs and weekends may be a possibility.  A passing score on the civil service test will also be required.  The starting rate for this position is $12.89.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 3 years of auditing experience, and CPA, CIA or CISA certification or working towards it.  IT auditing experience a plus. Salary range for this position is in the $50s.

SUBSTANTIAL AMENDMENT TO THE 2008-2009 ONE-YEAR ACTION PLAN
 

To all interested agencies, groups, and persons:
 

The City of Toledo is seeking comments on a proposed substantial amendment to its One-Year Action Plan, which is a part of the Five-Year Consolidated Plan for a Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP).

The Substantial Amendment includes a description of available funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the eligible uses for the NSP grant.  It contains a description of the activities to be undertaken and the expected results of those activities, a geographic distribution of the estimated foreclosure risk, while also emphasizing areas of greatest need, including those with the greatest number of foreclosures, those with the highest percentage of homes financed by subprime mortgage-related loans, and those identified as likely to face a significant rise in the rate of home foreclosures.  In addition, the plan will contain certifications required by HUD.
